Mori, a sleepy hamlet situated on the banks of Tons river and a part of the Tons valley in the north-western most part of the Garhwal region of the Uttarakhand state, India.


This quaint hamlet has a unique mix of culture diversity and history as it borders the states Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh. It is immensely popular for adventurous water sports activities and trekking. Surrounded by woody hills of dense tall pines, deodars and chestnuts, the rolling paddy fields and the gushing river making it an ideal camping site for a weary city dweller. If nature's is your call then it's Mori you head for - a perfect holiday, for basking in solitude is total bliss.


The best way to experience Mori is by camping on your own or at an organised campsite on the sandy banks of river Tons. With the ushering of the dawn you are greeted by bird songs and a beautiful countryside. To begin a day you can count on the options, bargain for the best rafting deal on the river, cycling through the pine scented trails, trekking, or simply lazing with the river for company under the tallest pines. For those fond of reliving a past era, a visit to the ancient temple built by the Pandavas is a must.


The main attractions of this beautiful hamlet is the ancient Duryodhana Temple.The ancient wood crafted temple is said to be built by the mythological warriors, the Pandavas and dedicated to their antagonist cousin Duryodhana, being the only Indian temple dedicated to the Kaurava king. The other Duryodhana Temple is located in Jakhol also dedicated to the Kaurava king. It boasts of an actual idol of the lord. With legendary temples, mythological figures and architectural structures, Mori has a rich cultural diversity.


The Tons valley is a base for treks to Kedar Kantha, the beautiful Har-Ki-Dun Valley and the pristine, remote RuinsaraTal. The waters of the Ton teems with trout, special permission is required if you wish to go angling.


Rafting or Kayaking down the river is highly recommended. As the rapids are deceptive, you are advised to test the waters only in the company of experienced guides and proper gear.


Har Ki Doon trek

Har ki Doon is a cradle shaped valley set at an elevation of 3,566 mts. It being one of the remotest places in Uttarakhand, the most fascinating and least visited areas of the Garhwal Himalayas, is a paradise for trekkers. Encompassed in pristine beauty it is one of the most alluring places in India offering numerous trekking options.


Maninda Tal is a popular spot in the region overlooking the majestic valley.


Kuari Pass Trek from Har ki Doon takes the travellers from Uttaranchal to Himachal Pradesh and Borasu Pass trek ends up at Chitkul in Himachal Pradesh.
