The sanctuary and national park also contain several geological, cultural and visitor service attractions that make this largest protected area in Goa a popular visitor destination. The Tambdi Surla temple is one such place, a small but exquisite 12th century Shiva temple of the lord Mahadeva. It is an active place or worship, located 13 km east of Bolcornem village, past the end of a single lane paved road in the northern region of the park. The temple consists of garbhagriha, antarala and a pillared Nandi mandapa built of basalt. The four pillars, embellished with intricate carvings of elephants and chains support a stone ceiling decorated with finely carved lotus flowers of the Ashtoken variety. Close by is the Dudhsagar Waterfalls, springing from a lofty height of 310m it is located on the Goa-Karnataka border. It lies at a distance of 60 kms from Panaji and 10 km from Collem Railway Station. The name of this waterfall evolves from the Konkani name for the falls, Dudhsagar meaning 'sea of milk'. In spite of being a perilous spot due to its slippery rocks, it is a popular site for trekking and hiking. The fall looks stunning post monsoon as it ripples with bubbling foam-like water. The fall overlooks a steep, crescent-shaped edge of a valley covered with beautiful tropical forest. Monkeys, birds, bees, butterflies have carved their own niche amidst the flora of the region and the plunge pool abounds in aquatic life. Due to the falls location in an idyllic tropical forest with intersecting streams all along, it renders an awesome look when viewed from the top. The falls looks even better at the mysterious radiance of the first morning sun. Downstream from Dudh Sagar Falls is an eerie canyon of water carved crevices called the Devils Canyon, created from solid rock by serpentine underwater currents. It is just off the main trail soon past the Collem entry point. Located about 2 km southwest of Tambdi Surla, at the Karnataka border is another beautiful waterfall, the Tambdi waterfall, it is equally spectacular and only slightly shorter than Dudhsagar Falls, however it is rarely visited because of its difficult access by a steep, winding and irregular rocky path. A location to get a great view of the expanse of the sanctuary and the Atli River is Mystic point. And lastly there is the Sunset point, which provides a breathtaking view of the park, revealing a vast expanse of closed canopy treetops. It can be reached by park vehicles, driving along a zigzagging road carved from the mountain.
